New Technology: OnePlus Phones

The One Plus One is a new phone from a new company called Oneplus. The One was very unexpected and most people never heard of Oneplus. The phone is quite a beast. It's rocking a Qualcomm© Snapdragon™ 801 processor with 2.5GHz Quad-core CPUs. That means it is very fast and you probably won’t much lag except for in the very intensive apps. You might think that having a processor like might drain the battery, and you are right. But, the One has a 3100 mAh LiPo battery. Which is over double the size of the battery of the iPhone 5. The One is running CyanogenMod 11S based on Android 4.4, which is basically the android version of jailbreak on iOS. This phone has a 13 megapixel camera which is 5 megapixels better then the iPhone 5s. It can also record 4K video, which is 4 times better than HD. On a 5 inch screen, it would have 881.16 pixels per inch. Overall the OneplusOne is a great phone, but the best part is the price. It is $299 off-contract. Other flagship phones from major companies are $600 to $700 off contract and don’t have half as good specs as the OneplusOne.

New Technology: iOS8

Hate iOS7?  Well, good news! iOS8 is rumored to come out in the middle of Summer 2014. Apple has leaked some information, and it happens to be an inside look at the new iOS8.  Will it look new? Is it faster? What can I do with iOS8 that iOS7 can’t do?  Well, iOS8 is the precursor to the new iPhone 6, with of course a bigger screen.  iOS8 is basically compatible with iPad, iPod, iPhone and all of the iDevices screen sizes.  Other than that, there is rumored to be a more android-like passcode, so jail breaking isn’t so necessary.  That’s right, connect the dots, and facial recognition. (About time Apple!)  iOS8 also features more lifestyle capabilities.  A built in pedometer, distance tracker, dieter and more.  Apple wanted to live up to their name of “Apple”, sweet and healthy.  Another iOS8 rumor is the look. Apple decided to skip the drawing board and keep the overall look of iOS7, so most physical features will remain the same.  Lastly, iOS8 boasts a better Siri, with noise cancelling technology.  It is rumored (however we don’t know how true it is) that Siri will know your voice, so in a loud room Siri can focus on you.  Also, your voice and a keyword will be a passcode option along with the finger scanner, dots and number grid passcodes.  Next week we talk about the new upcoming Apple iWatch and if it will rival Google Glass.
